Power Restored After Tropical Storm Leaves Jefferson Parish in the Dark
As crews work to restore power to thousands of customers
Entergy has been working around the clock to restore power to customers in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, after a tropical storm swept through the area, leaving widespread damage and power outages. As of Wednesday morning, Entergy reports that power has been restored to approximately 95% of customers.
The storm, which made landfall late Tuesday night, brought high winds and heavy rain to the area, knocking down trees and power lines. At the height of the storm, more than 100,000 customers in Jefferson Parish were without power.
Entergy crews have been working around the clock to restore power to customers, and have made significant progress in a short amount of time. However, some customers may still be without power for several more days.
Entergy is urging customers to stay safe during this time, and to be aware of the dangers of downed power lines. If you see a downed power line, stay away from it and call Entergy immediately.
Customers can also check the status of their power outage by visiting the Entergy website or by calling the customer service line.
