Five Regions of Africa

Africa, the second-largest continent on Earth, is home to 54 countries and a diverse range of cultures and ecosystems. The continent is divided into five geographical regions: Northern Africa, Eastern Africa, Middle Africa, Southern Africa, and Western Africa.

Northern Africa

Northern Africa includes countries such as Egypt, Algeria, and Morocco. The region is known for its deserts, including the Sahara Desert, and its ancient civilizations, such as the pharaonic civilization of Egypt.

Eastern Africa

Eastern Africa includes countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. The region is known for its wildlife, including the Serengeti National Park, and its Great Lakes region.

Middle Africa

Middle Africa includes countries such as Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Gabon. The region is known for its rainforests, including the Congo Basin Rainforest, and its mineral resources.

Southern Africa

Western Africa
