Bayer Appoints Bill Anderson as CEO
Former Roche Executive to Take Helm on June 1, 2023

The Supervisory Board of Bayer AG has appointed William "Bill" Anderson as the company's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective June 1, 2023. Anderson, born August 23, 1966, will join Bayer as a member of the Board of Management on April 1, 2023.
Anderson's appointment follows months of shareholder pressure for a change in leadership at Bayer. The German drugmaker announced the move on Wednesday, naming Anderson as the successor to Werner Baumann, the current CEO.
Anderson brings a wealth of experience in the pharmaceutical industry to Bayer. He most recently served as head of Roche's pharmaceuticals business. Bayer's share price rose after the announcement, indicating investor confidence in Anderson's leadership.
