Panthers Sign New Player
Joe Thornton Brings Experience
Enforcer Bolsters Team
The Florida Panthers have added some muscle to their lineup, signing Joe Thornton to a one-year contract. The 2006 Hart Trophy winner and four-time All-Star is known for his physical play and ability to put up points.
Thornton is a welcome addition to a Panthers team that is looking to make a deep playoff run this season. The Panthers have not won a playoff series since 1996, but they believe that Thornton can help them get over the hump.
"Joe is a proven winner and a great leader," said Panthers general manager Dale Tallon. "He's going to bring a lot of experience and toughness to our team."
Thornton is excited to join a young team with a lot of potential. “I'm looking forward to helping this team win,” Thornton said. “I know we can make a deep playoff run.”
The Panthers are hoping that Thornton can be the missing piece that they need to win a Stanley Cup. Thornton will be counted on to provide leadership and toughness, and he will also be expected to contribute offensively.
Thornton is a great addition to the Panthers, and he could be the player that helps them finally break through and win their first Stanley Cup.
