Durant scores 39 points as Warriors take 3-2 series lead

Cavaliers face elimination in Game 6

In his first season with the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant came up big in Game 5 of the 2017 NBA Finals, scoring 39 points to lead his team to a 129-120 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The win gives the Warriors a 3-2 lead in the series, and puts them one win away from their second NBA championship in three years.

Durant was efficient from the field, shooting 14-of-25, and he also grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out seven assists.

Stephen Curry added 28 points for the Warriors, while Klay Thompson scored 24 points.

LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 41 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome Durant and the Warriors.

The Cavaliers will now face elimination in Game 6, which will be played in Cleveland on Thursday night.
