Assistant Coach Confirmed Miroslav Klose

Hansi Flick Appointed as Germany's New Head Coach

Assistant Coach Confirmed: Miroslav Klose

Bundestag President on Board

Following the recent announcement of Hansi Flick's appointment as the new head coach of the Germany national team, the DFB has now confirmed his second assistant coach: Miroslav Klose. The former striker, who holds the record for the most goals scored for Germany, will join Flick's staff alongside Marcus Sorg, who has been retained from the previous coaching team.

The decision to appoint Klose was made by DFB president Bernd Neuendorf, who has been a vocal supporter of Flick's appointment. In a statement, Neuendorf praised Klose's "outstanding playing career" and his "excellent reputation as a coach." He also expressed his belief that Klose's "knowledge and experience" will be invaluable to the national team.

Flick, who has signed a four-year contract with the DFB, is set to take over from current interim coach Stefan Kuntz after the conclusion of Germany's involvement in the UEFA Nations League. He will be tasked with leading the team to success at the 2024 European Championship on home soil and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
