The Los Angeles Lakers clinched a berth in the NBA Playoffs on Friday night with a 110-106 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center.

Christian Wood led the way for the Mavericks with 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Dorian Finney-Smith added 18 points and Reggie Bullock chipped in 15. Luka Doncic finished with 14 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds, but he shot just 5-of-21 from the field.

For the Lakers, Jalen Hood-Schifino led the way with 21 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Jarred Vanderbilt added 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Anthony Davis finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

The Lakers led by as many as 15 points in the second half, but the Pelicans rallied to cut the deficit to just two points with less than two minutes remaining. However, Hood-Schifino hit a clutch jumper to give the Lakers a four-point lead, and they were able to hold on for the win.

With the victory, the Lakers improved to 43-39 on the season and clinched the sixth seed in the Western Conference. They will open the playoffs at home against the third-seeded Sacramento Kings.

The Pelicans, meanwhile, fell to 36-46 on the season and were eliminated from playoff contention.
